PT6 Hot Start Monitoring

IntelliStart+ has been developed specifically to monitor critical flight parameters on turbine engine aircraft. IntelliStart+ has been designed to identify and record
event and trend data from both airframe and engines.
The data available from the system allows easy assurance that the aircraft is being operated within manufacturer and owner set limits and simply facilitates the data acquisition and reporting requirements needed to operate engines on condition.

In its fuel modulation role, IntelliStart+ assists the pilot during engine starts by examining sensor input and trimming fuel flow when a sensor reading falls outside pre-set boundaries. Fuel trim control only occurs when the aircraft is onthe ground. Once in the air the IntelliStart+ is locked out of the fuel control system.

The IntelliStart+ records and analyzes signals from locations on the engine and aircraft. The signals are obtained from a combination of existing aircraft and supplied sensors. The main system components and the signals required are:

  • Engine N1 (Ng) Speed
  • Engine N2 (Np) Speed
  • Engine Torque Pressure
  • Engine T4.5 (TOT) Temperature
  • Engine Fuel Trim Solenoid Valve (FTSV)
  • Aircraft Main Rotor (Nr) Speed
  • Aircraft Outside Air Temperature (OAT) Probe
  • Aircraft Altitude Sensor (Optional)
  • Aircraft Airspeed Sensor (Optional)

IntelliStart+ can be installed in engines Allison 250 and can be applied to the following rotary aircraft:

  • Bell 206 Series
  • MD-369 & 500 Series
  • Schweizer Model 269D
