Automated Data Transmission

The Automated Data Transmission Unit (DTU) is an essential on-board communications system to send PT6 engine monitoring data to a central database without operator intervention.

PT6 engine monitoring DTU

Applicable to the following aircraft:

  • Cessna Caravan 208 Series,
  • Raytheon C90, 200, 300, & 1900 Series
  • Fairchild Dornier GmbH 328-300 Jet
  • Bell 206 Series
  • Bell/Agusta 212 & 412 Series
  • Sikorsky S-76A and S-76C
  • Agusta Model A109E, A119
  • Bombardier Model DHC-8-300

The Automated Data Transmission Unit (DTU) is required with the PT6 monitoring systems: ADAS+, SmartCycle+ or IntelliStart+.

The destination for the data is the Pratt & Whitney Engine Services TurbineTracker Server accessible through the Internet.

The Automated Data Transmission Unit is designed to:

  • Transmit data after every flight
  • No operator intervention is required.
  • No more laptops, files or forms to manage.

How it works:

  1. On landing, the Automated Data Transmission Unit automatically collects data from monitoring system.
  2. The Unit makes a cellular connection (utilizing GSM/GPRS) service.
  3. All trend, event and exceedance data is transmitted to the data management service TurbineTracker for review.
  4. Data is automatically processed and an email report is sent to the user within minutes.
